Powderhorn ParkMay 4th - Join Us in for May Day Celebrations! Street Retreats
The streets are public places where we meet each other as equals and encounter the unknown as well as ourselves.
They are often those places in our cities and towns we are told not to go, where those who are "not like us" live. The Faithful Fools will provide Street Retreats where people from all walks of life are invited to bear witness to the poverty and deprivation that exists on the streets. In this context opportunity is given for personal action and reflection.
The Witness![]() Based on the ten Ox-herding pictures of the ancient Zen Buddhist teachings, this one woman play follows the journey of a young woman onto the streets, who comes to understand that she must look at the assumptions of her own mind before she can enter whole-heartedly into the community of all living beings. Written and directed by Martha Boesing, The Witness portrays the work and operating ethos of the Faithful Fools. More on the play. A freewill offering will be received at each performance.
Song of the Magpie
Written and performed by internationally known playwright and director, Martha Boesing.
