WE HAVE WHAT WE NEED BEFORE IT IS ASKED OF US

Faithful Fools is a community.  We are often called upon to be the "space in-between." We are there when other agencies can't be. Sometimes it takes too much time to arrange for a taxi voucher to get to an appointment, so we provide a ride.  Providing extra dollars for an extraordinary expense  sometimes doesn't fit within a traditional non-profit's budget. That might be paying for the cremation of someone whose family is struggling with medical expenses or it might be paying for a background check in order to get a job. That's when we step in. We maintain the human resources to accompany people when needed and we maintain a small assistance budget to help with the expenses that can make the difference between being housed and being homeless.

Operating expenses like utilities and salaries are often not covered by grants, so we depend upon donations for the bulk of our budget. The majority of our donors give a few hundred dollars a year (some  give $10 or $15 a month) and it all makes a difference.

When you are generous, we can be generous too. We live by the adage that "We have what we need before it is asked of us." That means we have the time when someone needs to talk and we have those extra dollars for a pair of shoes.
